You might think that punctuating the narrative with many mini biographies of those that participated would render the telling of the tale tedious. Not a bit of it; they were like the salt in the stew and the icing on the cake.
From a small boy of ten to the present day, [66], I have been fascinated and enthralled by the story of the Alamo. I thought I had read and listened to all that was available on the subject until I stumbled across this audio book. How lucky was I.
The only fault was the narration. He seems to have been well regarded as a narrator, but I found his monotone drone a distraction at times. But the story was so beautifully constructed that it did not matter too much.
