The story is as good as the previous 3 books (not counting novellas) and it’s not that this narrator is poor it’s just you get used to the characters and the way they are portrayed (and Sarah Coomes was brilliant) and then book 4 it all changes why oh why!

Brilliant story but why change the narrator for book4!!

Another fantastic novel by Bradley Beaulieu, I'm loving the slow reveal of the larger plot and characterization continues to be a strong point. However I find it incredibly disappointing that they chose to swap narrators midway through this series. Sarah Coomes did a truly amazing job in her narrations of the previous novels and it felt jarring to have characters that I've come to know over four books being portrayed radically differently. I want to be clear, Kate Reading's performance was not terrible but in the context of The Song of the Shattered Sands it was absolutely the wrong move to alter narrators.

The change in narrator is really disappointing!
