About this listen

Dante is Chapter Master of one of the noblest but most troubled Chapters of Space Marines in the Imperium: the Blood Angels. From the time of his birth in the rad-scarred wastes of Baal Secundus, he was destined for glory and strife.

From his apotheosis to Scout, to the hive cities of Armageddon and the alien menace of the Cryptus system, Dante has waged war against all the enemies of the Imperium. He has witnessed the divine, and struggled against the darkness within all sons of Sanguinius. Longer lived than any other Chapter Master, this is his chronicle, his great and storied legend.

Great story covering various points in Dante's life. I think narrators are always at a disadvantage when voicing Astartes and xenos without some form of post modulation. However this is narrated admirably.

been running Blood Angels for 20yrs, good to have some lore around the oldest Astartes in the cosmos. Gives an indepth account of how an aspirant becomes a full feldged marine

starts off a bit slow but stick with it, once the action kicks in it gets pretty epic and you will be enjoying both sides of the story
the narrator give the story a very epic lord of the rings esc vibe with his delivery! especially enjoyed the rousing speeches.
would have lead very well into devastation of Baal but I had already read it oh well

A 10/10 book with a fascinating look at the process of ascending from a regular average human, to becoming a space marine that became the longest serving chapter master.

Incredible Story

Narrative was good but the jumping back and forth between childhood and adulthood didn't really draw the comparison or dichotomy I think the author intended.

Pretty good

Great origin story of Dante & some awesome insight into the chapter gene flaws but I personally didn’t like the narrator - his range of voices wasn’t good enough in my view and some of the characters just sounded.......silly.

Some decent lore but didn’t like the narrator
