About this listen
Hattie Murton never dreamed of TV stardom. A straight-from-a-fairytale encounter with a casting agent somehow landed her a part on what she’d thought would be a one-off pilot for Leicester Square, a bodice-ripping drama adapted from a bestselling romance novel. Buoyed by a surge in demand for romantic dramas, the show instead propelled its core cast to household-name status within a month.
Hattie tries to look on the positive side of all situations, but four seasons of brutal press, overly invested fans, and a cutthroat industry that’s never quite felt like the right fit would give even Pollyanna an edge of cynicism. And high on the ‘con’ list when it comes to her current and unintended career is having to share a set and some horrendously early starts with Anthony Rafe. Leicester Square villain. A-lister. Absolute prat.
In the new season’s scripts, it appears that her previously sane, rational character is about to lose her mind and begin an unexpected and unsettlingly graphic affair with the series villain. Forced into close—very close and very…intimate—proximity with the man everyone loves to hate, Hattie’s horror is matched only by Anthony’s drawling disdain. But when very real chemistry sparks during their scripted love scenes, Hattie begins to think the industry’s legendarily heartless Bad Guy might just have a pulse after all. And Anthony, for his part, is caught off-guard by the way his heart races when he’s around his aggravating onscreen lover.
As reality starts to imitate art a little too close for comfort, the world’s most unlikely couple might just have more in common than they thought…

Loved Nicola Coughlin
Really enjoyed this, while predictable it’s an enjoyable story and the narrators were great, in particular Nicola Coughlin

funny and charming
this is a really sweet, light and fluffy read. I instantly thought of bridgerton when I read the summary and was pleased to find its the lady from bridgerton reading the female lead's part. She has a lovely reading voice and the male narrator also does an excellent job. Lots of fun, will look out for the author's other work!

Overly descriptive
You’d be expecting the action to have moved on but the narrative about it would still be going on!
An okay book and great narration but the author didn’t half go on!

Low Risk, High Reward
I listened to this as a freebie on the Audible Plus catalogue and didn’t have any expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with ‘laugh out loud’ moments and enough depth to the characters that I would have been happy to hear more. Brilliantly narrated and I would absolutely be interested in another book in this series about (these or more likely) other featured characters. I would happily recommend this to friends who use Audible as a light, amusing and quick “read”.

Easy listening story
Overall an easy listen with a very simple story (two pretty people fall in love). The story has been done before but slightly different with the filming a tv show element of it. No real relationship highs and lows, just a falling in love story.
Narration was good but I don't think it actually benefited from the 2 narrators as it was hard to tell who was who when the narrators changed.

very cute but otherwise forgettable
The actors did a phenomenal job of this, but it was just your run of the mill cutesy story. Nothing wrong with that and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but the main thing that stood out for me was the voice actors. The story was very well written as well, and funny to listen to.

Amazing voices recommended read
Was an audible freebie so not expecting the gem it is! Yes rom com but with a refreshingly well paced unveiling of characters and the NARRATORS WERE EXCELLENT. I was pleasantly shocked to discover that all characters played by the two actors. Definetly on my favourite re-listern list...off to

Engaging characters and an entertaining romcom.
Chose this as it was a freebie, not familiar with author. Agree with another reviewer that the story is rather overwritten & could have used a good editor. HOWEVER as I listened I did find the characters very engaging and became invested in the story & was sorry when it ended. Gwilym Lee an excellent narrator, Nicola Coughlan not quite as good but OK. Wouldn't mind a sequel to find out what happens next, maybe Jake could be improved by a good woman! Or Blair could be the next main character.

Voice Acting was Amazing
The voice actors did a really great job. The best I’ve heard. Especially Nicola. I felt the story was a little lacklustre; I was waiting for something to happen. Overall enjoyable though.
