_______________

The enormity of climate change and biodiversity loss can leave us feeling overwhelmed. How can an individual ever make a difference?

Isabella Tree and Charlie Burrell know firsthand how spectacularly nature can bounce back if you give it the chance. And what comes is not just wildlife in super-abundance, but solutions to the other environmental crises we face.

The Book of Wilding is a handbook for how we can all help restore nature. It is ambitious, visionary and pragmatic. The book has grown out of Isabella and Charlie’s mission to help rewild Britain, Europe and the rest of the world by sharing knowledge from their pioneering project at Knepp in Sussex. It is inspired by the requests they receive from people wanting to learn how to rewild everything from unprofitable farms, landed estates and rivers, to ponds, allotments, churchyards, urban parks, gardens, window boxes and public spaces.. The Book of Wilding has the answers.

A great educational trip into rewilding

The truth that human beings are uneducated, selfish and proceeding through lack of knowledge, destroying our natural habitat.

Inspiring and full of detail

Really enjoying this so far, it's exactly what we need. The only downside is a growing number of innacurate generalisations about what is described as 'conventional' conservation. I've worked in conservation for 10 years and can easily say it's not as old-fashioned, short-sighted and unambitious as it's often portrayed here, nor is ignorant of the concepts being discussed. An odd aspect to an otherwise brilliant and refreshing book. I can only think this arises from the level of generalisation, which describes all conservation efforts which aren't wilding as being the same thing.

Enervating, full of hope

A superb sequel to 'Rewilding', fascinating and genuinely challenging. I feel properly educated and informed. Don't get dispirited, do what you can, this book will show you what's possible. A gem.

A useful guide to rewilding in practice.

Full of useful advice and interesting facts and examples. A little too like a text book to be a truly exciting listen but thorough and if use to anyone thinking of rewilding a patch of land of any size.

Authoritative guide for rewilding projects.

A comprehensive and authoritative rewilding guide, and a worthy follow up to wilding.
Though mainly aimed at those undertaking large projects, I found the whole thing fascinating, and it left me with hope that our environment can be healed.
