Such great stories. Performer mispronounces certain words which is a little annoying - but is still easy to listen too despite. When you know the book I guess you just want perfection in the performer :-) Such a wonderful comedic picture of social climbing, snobbery and one-upmanship. Overall SO worth getting.

Witty stories of silly snobbery. A delightful distraction. If you like P G Wodehouse's tales, you'll enjoy this.

These are my favourite books of all time. Unfortunately the reader is not good enough, mispronouncing Riseholme and providing a ridiculous voice for Captain Puffin. Overall the stories win through

Great narration. Wonderful characters all brought vividly to life but found myself saying 'Rizzom!' every time Riseholme was mentioned which was a lot. For that reason only four stars but still looking forward to listening to the next books in the series.

Quite wonderful. The pretensions, petty rivalries, fads and fancies are put under a searing satirical spotlight by E F Benson. Although you can’t help becoming quite fond of these snobbish characters. Don’t miss this.
