About this listen
Gram lives in the long shadow cast by his father, the latehero, Dorian Thornbear. Struggling to find his place in a world where politics and wizardry appear to have replaced the need for men of might and main, he must make his own mark. Trapped within the seemingly safe confines of Castle Cameron, Gram faces both love and tragedy. His choices will define not only himself, but serve to remind others of his family's legacy, and the reason only a fool threatens those a Thornbear protects.

Had me gripped from the start

I'm not good at giving in depth reviews, all I can say is that if I were to use a specific scale to rate this book starting from "it's very boring" and ending at "it's so good that It won't let me sleep" then I'd tell you that I haven't got much sleep the other night.
I'm already digging in the second title. I hope it keeps being unreasonably good.
Better than expected

A surprisingly good listen
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
I re-read the book summary, checked the overall rating and read a couple of comments again. As it was a good summary and had great reviews, I stuck with it.
I am so glad that I did stick with it. The story developed and covered the transition of a 15 year old boy's rapid ascension to manhood. The narration was superb and I couldn't stop listening.
I really like it when I am drawn into a story, when I listen to book 2, I now know the author's style and will listen full of confidence with the knowledge that I know I will enjoy it.
Enjoyable Read...
